This page is dedicated to those collegues, Doctors and Dentists that, although practice with proven competence inplantology, have found it difficult to rehabilitate with fixed prosthesis the upper dental arch, creating a valid implant pillar in the distal sector, due to scarce bone availability or for excessive pneumatisation of the maxillary sinus. This in front of the Patient’s requirement of a prompt rehabilitation, normally in his own way informed on the immediate load, “because a person I know has done everything in a few days….”.All of us have replied to the request: that not all the situations are the same, that the immediate load is not always possibile, that sometimes it is necessary to resort to preparatory operations such as the osteogenetic distractive surgery, the bone transplant, the sinus lifting: operations that definitely extend the period of rehabilitation, have sure costs and unsteady efficacy. Our just argumentation often had the effect of disappointing the Patient’s expectations, reducing his resolve.
We are here to propose an alternative: the zygomatic implant.
